Resources for New Members
The South Jersey Camera Club is designed to be a community of people who share a passion for photography. We understand that joining any new group is both exciting and anxiety provoking. It takes time to feel comfortable with strangers and to learn about and become involved in club activities.
We would like to help ease the orientation process for new or recent club members. The Board of Directors has decided to offer any interested new member the opportunity to meet with a Club Ambassador to help get acclimated to all the club has to offer.
If you want to take advantage of this opportunity, a volunteer could chat with you prior to attending a challenge meeting. They would welcome you to our club, introduce you to Board members, and let you know where to get information and whom to contact with specific questions. If you’d like, they could sit with you during one of our monthly challenge meetings and answer any questions you might have about how the challenge works.
We encourage you to become an active member; taking advantage of all our club has to offer including challenges, workshops, field trips, user groups, volunteer opportunities, and personal connections.
As an incentive to take part in our challenges, if six new members submit two or more photographs each between now and our final June meeting, those participants will be entered in a raffle to win a mystery photography prize. The drawing will be held at our the Spring Fling event in June.
If you are interested in working with one of our ambassadors, please email Elvira Peretsman, our Membership Chair at info@sjcameraclub.org and she will pass your contact information to the team.
All of us hope you will find our club to be a welcoming and creatively stimulating environment to build or enhance your photography skills and enjoy the company of like-minded people.
Thank for joining our club. We look forward to getting to know you.
