Photography Field Trips for the 2024-2025 Season

Join us for photo ops galore

Field trips are open to all South Jersey Camera Club members. You must register in advance for a SJCC field trip by clicking on the registration links found in the calendar event. By registering for any field trip you are also agreeing to the terms of the SJCC waiver. A copy of which will be on your confirmed registration email.

Field trips will be listed in the calendar and open for registration when they have been confirmed.

Popcorn Zoo Animal Refuge - Saturday Sep. 28

Time 11 AM
Led by:
Detail: 1 Humane Way, Forked River, NJ  Saturday, September 28, 2024. This is a small non profit 7 acre animal refuge and sanctuary with a wide range of domestic, exotic and farm animals and birds. We will meet at the zoo at 11am.  Cost is $10/$5 senior.

 

Viking Village & Lighthouse @ Sunset- Saturday Oct. 19

Time 3 PM through Sunset **This is a time change**

Viking Village was founded in 1920.  It is home to more than 40 fishing vessels.  You will be taken back in time to the early days of a quaint fishing village complete with shops.  We will meet in the lighthouse parking lot at 3 PM.  Free 

 

New Egypt Flea Market & Village - Wednesday Nov.6

Detail: 933 Monmouth Road, Cream Ridge, NJ 08514.  We will meet at the market at 10am on 11/06/2024.  It is a great old time market and is a great  place for photo opts. FREE

 

Thomas Edison Museum & National Park - Saturday Dec. 14

Detail: 211 Main St W Orange, NJ 07052.  Step back in time to Edison’s home and laboratory, when machines were run by belts and pulleys and music was played on phonographs. $15 + tolls ($6.94). If you have an "Ameraica the Beautiful" pass (this includes senior passes) the entry to the museum is free.

 

Funny Farm Animal Rescue and Sanctuary - Tuesday Apr 8

Please note: The venue needs a list of attendees in advance of our visit.  Maximum group size is 30 people.

The farm is a great place to get up close and personal with the animal. Funny Farm is a private charity without State or Federal Funding. Donations are appreciated but not required. There is no admission fee.

All attendees need to digitally complete and submit the farm's waiver at the time of registration. Find the form here.

Old Truck City - Sunday, April 27

Time 10:30 AM - 2 PM

Details:  This is a private yard.  Lots of old cars and trucks. There is a $25 fee that must be paid in cash (exact change) prior to entry.  We will meet at the entrance to collect the fee and waiver forms before entering (1126 Alvine Road, Pittsgrove, NJ). Please sign up asap so that we have an accurate count.

Baps Shri Swaminaryan Mandir -Thursday, May 29

Time: meet at 4:30pm. Itinerary features tour, dinner, and wraps up with a sunset

This is a large Hindu mandir (temple) built between 2015 and 2023.  The photography should be amazing.
The Akshardham mandir was designed in accordance with ancient Hindu scriptures and features elements from Hindu heritage. It is the largest Hindu mandir in the United States and the second largest Hindu mandir in the world.
Please note: No sleeveless or low-cut tops.
No shorts, skirts, or dresses above knee length
No clothing that reveals the shoulders, chest, back, or knees.
No clothing containing offensive language or imagery
