Photography Field Trips for the 2023/2024 Season
Join us for photo ops galore
Field trips are open to all South Jersey Camera Club members. You must register in advance for a SJCC field trip by clicking on the registration links below. Also, you must bring a signed copy of our field trip waiver at the start of every trip.
Saturday, September 16, 10:30 am – Pirate Festival, Marcus Hook, PA
Led by Bob Laramie
This festival includes a full pirate encampment with period tents, demonstrations and showcases their wares, firearms, cannons and beer making. Actors are extremely accommodating to photographers. The event officially starts at 11 AM and concludes early evening. Our field trip group will be from meetup at 10:30 to 2:30 Club members attending this event past years feel this is one of the best!

Saturday, October 14 – Long Beach Island, Sunrise to Sunset
Led by Joann Richichi
Long Beach Island sunrise to sunset, with the option to leave whenever you want. We will start with sunrise at Holgate Inlet and end with sunset at Barnegat Lighthouse, with coffee breaks & lunch in between.
Princeton Architecture postponed – Will be rescheduled in the spring.

Princeton University’s collection of buildings with worldwide influence on their designs.
Saturday, November 11, 2 PM to Sunset – Fort Hancock & Sandy Hook

We will begin photographing the fort in the late afternoon sun and conclude with sunset (which is 4:42 pm).
Saturday, December, 9th, 10am – Comcast Building, Philadelphia
Led by Susan LaPierre
We will be photographing in & around the Comcast building at 1701 JFK Blvd. in Philadelphia. Car Pooling is available: Meet at Kohl’s Parking lot at 9 AM: 301 Route 70W Marlton, NJ 08053 If you are not carpooling, we will meet inside the Comcast building at 10 AM under the Sphere.
Saturday, January 20, 11am – Patcong Valley Model Railroad, Buena Vista Twp, NJ

We will be able to enter after hours to have the facility to ourselves. Finalized date and details will be posted in the near future.
Saturday, February 10, 9:45am – Simeone Car Museum, Philadelphia – There is a fee to enter the museum.

March 8, 11am – Bryn Athyn Cathedral

We will have access to the cathedral from 11am to 3pm with a lunch break from 1pm to 2pm at the Be Well Cafe nearby.
Monday April 22, 8:30 am – Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge, Delaware
Led by Jackie Touw
This is a drivable loop but there are also walkable trails. Lots of opportunities to photograph birds, eagles, egrets, herons,… sometimes fox or kingfishers and occasionally deer. Not to mention the refuge landscapes.

Friday June 7, 10:15am – Street Photography, Philadelphia

The field trip is planned for Friday, June 7th. We will meet at the PATCO Woodcrest Station at 10:15, in order to catch the 10:33 train into Philly. Planning to shoot in Washington Square Park, Independence Mall, South Street and Italian Market, if members have the energy. Perhaps cheese steaks at Pat’s Steaks for lunch? Plan on about 4 hours of shooting. Unfortunately, no rain date is planned, so fingers crossed.
