PSA INTERCLUB COMPETITIONS
The PSA Interclub Competitions are organized by PSA Divisions and begin in the fall of each year. Each Interclub Competition has it's own schedule, guidelines, and requirements (e.g., three or four judgings a year). Participating clubs are from all over the world and both the club and the individuals participating can receive international recognition for their photography. It is not necessary for SJCC club members to be a member of PSA to participate, however, it is required that participants be a member of SJCC.
Following are the divisions in which SJCC will be competing with a brief description of each:
Projected Image Division (PID): holds competitions four times a year with closing dates of November 1st, January 1st, March 1st, and May 1st. Subject matter is open and the entries are digital.
Nature (ND): holds competitions three times a year with closing dates of October 15th, January 15th, and April 15th. Subject matter is all branches of natural history. All adjustments must appear natural with no human element present. All entries are digital.
Pictorial Print Division (PPD): holds competitions four times a year with closing dates of October 1st, December 1st, February 1st, and April 1st. All entries are unmounted, unmatted prints in the following categories: large color, large monochrome, small color, small monochrome with the subject matter being open. Large images must be greater than 8.5x12 but no greater than 16x20 and small images must be smaller than 8.5x12 but no smaller than 5x7.
As you can see our club has an ongoing need for your best efforts to submit to one or more of the PSA competitions. With this in mind winning SJCC digital images each month are used as a pool of images to submit to PSA competitions. (Anyone NOT wishing their winning image be submitted to a PSA interclub competition please advise the PSA digital chair ASAP -- Kacey Rovere at firstname.lastname@example.org
. All club members are also welcome to submit their digital prints directly to the PSA digital chair.
Prints may be submitted to the PSA print chair either at the monthly meeting or by making delivery arrangements with Bonnie Rovere at email@example.com
